Mazda 3 Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Mazda recently celebrated their ten year anniversary of the Mazda 3, since its introduction back in 2003. The Japanese automotive group decided to celebrate that milestone by unveiling the 2014 concept Mazda 3.
According to Mazda, the compact offered as a sedan, hatchback and wagon is their best-selling car yet. The first generation sold 2.2 million units until 2009, while the second generation version delivered 1.4 million to this day, which means a total of 3.6 million units were sold in ten years worldwide. Setting new benchmarks in style, refinement and dynamics and delivering exhilarating driving experience, the second generation furthered the sporty driving and look of the first generation. In 2011 the Skyactiv technology was introduced which allowed the car to use less fuel but producing more power. Safety was the forefront of the design with front and rear crumble zones and Mazda’s Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System which aims to absorb impact energy and aim it away from the occupant’s cell together with six airbags, Anti-lock Brakes, Dynamic Stability Control and Emergency Brake Assist helped give Mazda3 the highest five-star safety rating from both Australian and Euro NCAP.
"The Mazda3 has been a huge success for us and is clearly a cornerstone of our model range," says Jeff Guyton, president and CEO Mazda Motor Europe. "We've always aimed to exceed customer expectations with the Mazda3, and plan to continue raising the bar in the ultra-competitive C segment. Here's to another exciting decade."
Mazda 3 has won over 136 awards so far and the 2014 3rd generation model is a game changer. The new compact sedan Mazda 3 is packed with all new cutting edge technology including an Active Driving Display Panel that displays navigation information, vehicle speech, and other important statistics on an automatically folding display. Another great feature is the text-to-voice SMS text messages, email and social media. In true mazda fashion, the 2014 Mazda 3 will be complete with the entire Skyactiv technology to improve fuel and optimize performance.
