The new approach to utility design

The toughest tests that Australia landscape could throw at Mazda’s new utility range were no match for its unprecedented strength and versatility. With an impressive entry level, the 4x2 single cab chassis contains everything that you’d need in a strong and sturdy Ute, with added extras as the model progresses. The BT-50 is a pleasant surprise to drive, steering away from the more agricultural style of rival Ute and embracing a new and improved athletic performance that’s more car than truck.

The sophisticated interior contradicts everything you’d believe the interior of a common Ute to be. It’s functional and comfortable technological and visual features means your drive is a cut above the rest. The clever features of the vehicle’s internal systems are only a thumb’s reach away, with controls conveniently located on the steering wheel – those for cruise control, audio and the standard Bluetooth® functions, the MP3/WMA compatible CD player and USB connectivity. Sound quality is of the highest standard, responding powerfully through 4 speakers in Single and Freestyle Cab, 6 in Dual Cab models.

The 2012 BT-50 is stronger and better than before, and with the 4x4 towing capacity amongst the biggest around, you’ll feel as though nothing can stop you. Boasting the longest wheel base in its class, the all new BT-50 offers well over the norm with a 1400kg payload capacity, a hollow-walled tub to prevent external denting, 6 load anchor points and courteous extra storage under the rear seats.

Keeping the ‘after 5pm’ commitments in mind, Mazda has made sure to place safety at the top of their check list to include 3 child-seat anchor points available along with roll-stability control, trailer-sway control, dynamic stability control and 6 airbags.

The aesthetically pleasing front end can be likened to that of the rest of the Mazda family, with metallic paint offered free of charge. This design is unlike any other.

The ‘tradies’ and the weekend warriors alike will enjoy all the BT-50 has to offer. For those wishing to venture a little further off the beaten track, the BT-50 4x4 model variants come standard with locking rear differential at the push of a button, on-the-fly transfer modes between 2WD and 4WD up to 120km an hour, Hill Descent Control, and for those towing a little more than usual, Hill Start Assist.

The Mazda BT-50 represents a bold departure from traditional utility design, you’ll be thoroughly impressed. Don’t be fooled by this new look the BT-50 is as hard working and as though as ever!
