The All New Subaru XV
When I was first approached to test out the new Subaru XV I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had heard about the new model but without experiencing it, I was unable to put my thoughts into writing. Not being in the sales department in the showroom means I don’t get to learn firsthand about our new models although being in the industry it is definitely something I am interested in, so was thrilled when our Marketing Team approached me.
Here I will share my driving experience and what I have learnt about the all new and exciting Subaru XV.
January 2012 has seen the release of the brand new Subaru XV and we have been expecting big things. The XV combines the best Subaru technologies, smartest thinking and rich Subaru heritage we all know and love, with added safety, security and fun delivered by Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Subaru takes your SUV to new heights with this spacious groundbreaking new design.
The XV comes standard with Subaru’s signature All-Wheel Drive, Vehicle Dynamic Control, premium multi-function display and audio with steering wheel control and reversing camera allowing for easier parking. The very handy Bluetooth connectivity for when you’re on the go, roof rails, your choice of manual or CVT automatic with paddle shift controls, and with it, we introduce Subaru’s debut of the economical fuel-saving Auto Stop-start technology.
Additional features can include Satellite Navigation with SMS voice to text and voice command - great on the road especially when lost like I am most of the time, leather interior including leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear stick, sunroof, heated front seats, dual zone air conditioning so there’s no more arguing that it’s too hot or too cold, rear privacy glass and much more to make your drive comfortable and exciting.
How it was explained to me in easy to understand terms, the engine is one of the ‘cleanest’ currently on the Subaru market; running on 7L petrol per 100km, and with the most minimal amount of carbon dioxide emission in both manual and automatic transmissions, a positive step in the future for our environment.
The vehicle operates on a dual Active Voice Control System (AVCS) which make for gains in both performance and efficiency. The wide-body cabin is perfect for any cargo load not only was it designed for passenger comfort but also for everyday and weekend purposes making it adaptable and practical.
Perfect for any lifestyle, the XV exudes stunning performance with a whole lot of SUV fun. I can honestly say it was a pleasure to drive, I found myself impressed with each new discovered feature.
